Hellenic Premier Boxing Day Update

Bracknell Town lost 0-2 to Binfield FC in their festive derby at Larges Lane. First half strikes from Jemel Johnson and Adam Cornell settled matters, and see Binfield in tenth place. Bracknell, though, are still flirting with the relegation zone, although they have a nine point cushion on the bottom two. Those two are Abingdon Town and United, who played out their own derby, with United grabbing a 2-0 home win.

Meanwhile Ascot United, who won at Binfield last time out, thrashed Holyport 6-0 at Racecourse with five different scorers. Justin Clayton scored a brace as second placed United raced into a 5-0 lead inside half an hour. Leon Yarnie, John Denton and Jermaine Roche scored the others before half time. Daryl McLean added a sixth three minutes from time to complete the rout.

There were good away wins for Oxford City Nomads, who won 4-1 at Kidlington, and Highworth Town, who triumphed 3-1 at Shrivenham. Leaders Ardley United were held to a 1-1 draw at seventh placed Thame United, while three games fell to the weather. The matches at Brimscombe & Thrupp, Flackwell Heath and Reading Town all failed to beat the conditions.
